The Pine Tree

The Pine is a tree native to Colorado. There are more than 40 different species of pine in North America.

The pines of Colorado are very hardy. It can handle winter cold and wind.

The tree does not have leaves. It has sharp, stiff needles, called cones, at the edge of the branches.

The pine tree usally growes around 60 -80 feet in hight, but it can grow up to 100 feet tall.
