Lavender

Lavender is a very nice smelling herb. Lavender is native to the Mediterranean region, but Americans grow it in their gardens.

Lavender is rarely used in cooking (a tea is sometimes made from dried blossoms), but pockets of its leaves are used in sachets and potpouris. Outdoors lavender can grow to heights of three feet, but indoors it can be kept at eighteen inches.

Lavanduia angustifolia is the lavender's scientific name.
